Betty A. Mallett is the managing member of Mississippi Entrepreneurs and Minority Business Enterprise Resources (M.E.M.B.E.R.) LLC, established to provide consulting services to small, minority and women-owned businesses, government entities and corporations concerning the development, utilization and enhancement of minority and women-owned businesses. Ms. Mallett served as a consultant to develop a disparity study of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, which will be used to maximize minority and women business participation in contracts. In addition, Ms. Mallett helped establish a consortium of governmental entities that led to the development of the City of Jackson’s initial disparity study and equal business opportunity ordinance and program. A founding member of the Mississippi Alliance for Diversity in Public Contracting, Ms. Mallett is the chairperson of the board of directors of the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance and is the 2012 recipient of the MMBA Distinguished Service Award.
